Raed - Founder Spotlight

Khalid Zaidan
Founder & Managing Director
Introduction
What opportunity or change do you see for the future?

We see a big opportunity to make the Middle East and Africa global leaders in robotics. Our goal is to build robots locally that are smart, affordable, and made for the needs of our region. We want to help manufacturers automate faster and cheaper, and leave behind a legacy of innovation and local manufacturing.

What is the broader impact of your work on the industry or society?

Raedbots makes it easier for factories to switch from manual labor to automation. Our robots improve safety, boost quality, and help businesses grow. By building robots locally, we create jobs, support local industries, and help our region become more self-reliant in technology.

How did you overcome initial obstacles to bring your vision to life?

One of our biggest challenges was building advanced industrial robots without access to ready parts or big facilities. We solved this by designing everything ourselves and building a strong team of engineers. We also partnered with universities and companies to test and improve our products until they were ready for the market.

What major challenge does your company aim to solve?

Robots today are too expensive and hard to maintain. Many factories still use manual labor because they can't afford to automate. We solve this by making affordable, easy-to-use robots that are built for local industries like automotive, oil and gas, logistics, and more.

What inspired the vision behind your company?

We started Raedbots because we believed the region can build its own robots, not just import them. We wanted to show that high-tech products can be made here, by local talent, for local needs. That belief still drives everything we do.
